LOW VOLTAGE and MEDIUM VOLTAGE electrical cable connections, including cable SPLICES AND TERMINATIONS, have historically been made using an infinite array of compression connectors and the OEM and/or UL approved appropriate tools.
WECS introduced a new style connector called SHEAR-BOLT several years ago, and the product line is growing in inventory, and with our key manufacturers of MV Cable terminations, splices and TEE-Bodies.
NOT ALL SHEAR-BOLT methods of connection to the conductor wire is the same. The Pfisterer technology is clearly the leader with respect to clamping, protecting the cable stranding and cleanliness of the break-away area.
WECS maintains a large inventory of the Pfisterer SHEAR-BOLT connectors, and of the manufacturers packaged systems, including 3m, Eaton-Cooper, Richards, and others.
WECS also maintains a full complement of conventional connectors and tools from Burndy, T&B, COMEC, HOMAC, 3M, Penn Union and others.
